The Bay Area isn’t known for having four seasons. Rather, it essentially has two (spring and fall), and even then it’s sometimes difficult to distinguish between them. The Napa Valley isn’t as sneaky when it comes to the changing of the seasons—some trees, for instance, do indeed lose their leaves for the winter, as do the grapevines. When spring arrives, it’s as if Mother Nature hits the “on” switch and all plant life suddenly burst into action.
We were extremely fortunate to celebrate the first day of spring with Noelle and Wade, who flew out from Texas with their parents for their very intimate wedding. Their special day started at the Meritage Resort & Spa, where we captured them getting ready before moving on to Reid Family Vineyards, a beautiful property appointed with a budding vineyard, soaring redwoods, a rustic barn, antique farm machinery, and a cool barrel-filled winery. It was here that Noelle and Wade said, “I do,” and their officiant surprised them with a handfasting using a sailor’s knot. Another fun surprise came during the family portrait session, when a neighbor’s enthusiastic chocolate Lab ran over and insisted on getting belly rubs.
Afterwards, we explored the grounds with Noelle and Wade while their parents relaxed and enjoyed a variety of Reid wines and small bites. Our time finished with a winery tour and wine tasting. Such a lovely way to begin a lifetime together! Congratulations, Noelle and Wade!
