We first met Shannon and Peter feverishly setting up the hundreds of cookies Shannon had baked for her cousin Marissa’s wedding to Andy a few years ago. A year later, we met this sweet, thoughtful couple again at her other … Continue reading
James proposed to Roxana during a romantic trip to San Francisco. Rather than have their engagement session where they live in Southern California, they decided to revisit the site of that life-changing day.
On the summer solstice, we met up with our nature-loving couple at Stow Lake in Golden Gate Park. The day couldn’t have been more gorgeous. Squirrels scampered about, begging for handouts. Bluejays chased each other through the trees. Ducks and geese splashed around contentedly. One gopher even popped up and had a snack right in front of Roxana and James!
The lovely Thistle & Bone flower crown that Roxana wore fit the vibe perfectly. Laughing practically the entire time, they strolled hand in hand around the park, stopping on occasion to snuggle, blow bubbles, admire waterfalls, and climb trees. Oh! And paddle a boat around the lake! Since we pretty much ran around the entire length of the lake to keep up with them, we were drenched in sweat by the time they returned to the dock, but it was absolutely worth it. Here’s a glimpse of the fun we had together.
The last time we took photos at Golden Gate Park, we were stalked by a brain-hungry zombie. You can imagine our relief when Daniella and Fechin showed up at Stow Lake with no trace of the undead, eager to spend a sunny afternoon paddling and biking around Stow Lake.
Happily, the engagement session went without a hitch—even when Daniella and Fechin both stood up in their boat. A couple tangled among the reeds looked on in amazement as they cruised by like experienced gondoliers. Daniella and Fechin topped off their day on bikes, complete with wheelies and ride-by kisses.
By the end, Chris and I were drenched in sweat, having sprinted around the circumference of the lake in order to keep our couple in sight. We had a blast doing it, and can’t wait to capture their wedding next summer!
