Seattleites Christel and Matt fell in love when they both lived in San Francisco, bonding over pinball, video games, cats, and all things ’80s. So when they got engaged and started planning their wedding, they knew that it’d have to be in San Francisco.
We met them on their recent return to the Bay Area and joined them at two of their favorite SF locations for their engagement session. Our first stop, the Sutro Baths, was practically deserted on a Tuesday afternoon and the perfect spot for powering up their original Game Boys and catching the sunset over the Pacific.
Afterward, we made the pilgrimage to Free Gold Watch, a screenprinting shop in the Haight that doubles as a (mostly) pinball arcade. When they lived in SF, Christel and Matt spent many a Wednesday night here facing off against other pinball pros, and they introduced us to the art of split flipping, where two people play the same machine but each person controls one flipper. Like regular pinball isn’t challenging enough! We’ll definitely need to try that sometime on our own!
We had a total blast with Christel and Matt and can’t wait to capture their special day! In the meantime, here’s a look at some of the fun we had.
