We entered our fourth year of wedding photography in 2016 and are still incredibly humbled and honored by the dozens of couples that asked us to join them on their wedding day. Their journeys took us across the greater San Francisco Bay Area, including historic firehouses and Odd Fellows halls in San Francisco, secret gardens in Bodega Bay, redwood forests in the Santa Cruz Mountains, underwater wonderlands in Monterey, lakeside mansions in Oakland, lush vineyards in Livermore and Pleasanton, and succulent gardens in Berkeley. We rocked out in Reno (the Biggest Little City in the World!), took a rollicking ride on a narrow-gauge steam train, met a debonair pup named Pocket, served as witnesses for intimate elopements, and soaked up technicolor sunsets and glorious moonrises (both the Harvest Moon and Full Hunter’s Moon!).
The year also brimmed with unexpected wedding-day moments. Rashel and Justin sawed a log in half during their ceremony. Mandy and Ethan’s ring exchange was marked by fiery flair. Tony realized that he forgot to pack his wedding band less than two hours before the ceremony but thankfully found a replacement after scouring some of the nearby shopping malls with his trusty groomsmen. Jesse spent the morning in the emergency room with a terrible bout of the flu but powered through to ring in the new year with Sarah and their favorite people.
Here’s a look at some of the wonderful and wild times we had with our amazing couples and their loved ones. We can’t wait to see what 2017 has in store for us!
