Jen and Keith had an intimate East Coast wedding in October but wanted to celebrate with their West Coast family and friends. So they threw a lovely dinner party at Camino in Oakland over the crisp Thanksgiving weekend.
Jen dazzled in a sparkly cocktail dress while Keith cut a dashing figure in a dapper gray suit. Their beloved dog Toast couldn’t attend the festivities but made an appearance on each and every homemade favor (gingerbread and shortbread cookies shaped like bones) as well as the New York cab cutout that was the photobooth. Their planner Cherlyn, who did an amazing job organizing the whole shindig, somehow managed to bake all the cookies and make the cab!
The restaurant was both spacious and inviting, with long wooden tables, brick walls, chandeliers strewn with dried lemon slices and greenery, and candles galore. Guests easily made themselves at home, enjoying beverages and passed hors d’oeuvres before sitting down for dinner. Chef Russell Moore created a special menu of heaping hot and cold platters served family style, and a scrumptious plated dessert. The open kitchen was a treat to behold, with staff tending the wood oven and open brick fireplace, constructing various kinds of toast (note the lowercase “T”), carving the slow-cooked pork shoulder, and dishing up the hazelnut meringue with pomegranate sorbet. During dinner, a bevy of humorous and touching toasts were given and Keith’s uncle Phil showed off his incredible bubble-blowing skills (apparently you can blow a square bubble! Check out the animated gif below!). We were honored to witness this profusion of love and friendship and wish Jen & Keith a wonderful life together. Now on to the visuals.
